Head of Storytelling

$140K - $200K + competitive equity
Head of Storytelling for the client, the operating system for autism care — software that helps ABA clinicians start, run and scale their own practices (billing, payroll, scheduling, clinical documentation, parent communication). Zero to $5.5M net revenue in one year, 30% month-over-month growth, $12M raised. The role owns the client's organic social storytelling across Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and Facebook with a heavy emphasis on short-form vertical video, builds and manages a creator/influencer/freelancer network (mommy bloggers, clinician creators), creates content hands-on (briefs, on-camera, carousels, graphics) while managing an offshore social media manager, owns the content calendar and brand guidelines, and connects content performance to down-funnel metrics (intake form submissions, patient starts, cost per converted user). Explicit stated path to VP of Marketing. Already doing 100K+ impressions/week. Playful 'Duolingo energy in healthcare' brand. PARAFORM REWARD: $19,600 - $28,000+ total reward. Hiring 1 candidate. Role posted within last 7 days; recruiter density low; no candidates in final round yet. WHAT TO ASK CANDIDATES (Paraform submission questions): 1. Share a portfolio of short-form video content you've created or directed - specific examples plus metrics like impressions growth or down-funnel impact (cost per lead, conversion rates from organic social). 2. We're a B2C healthcare company targeting parents of kids with autism. Walk us through your experience creating content for a B2C audience - ideally healthcare or a services-based business (not physical products). 3. Can the candidate be on-site? If not, are they willing to relocate? 4. What is their salary expectation? 5. How actively is this candidate exploring new opportunities? AVOID SOURCING FROM: large traditional healthcare/pharma (Pfizer, J&J, Merck, UnitedHealth, Cigna, Anthem, CVS, McKesson, Kaiser, HCA, Humana); large enterprise B2B software (Oracle, SAP, Salesforce, Microsoft, IBM, Workday, ServiceNow, Adobe, Snowflake, Databricks, Palantir, UiPath, Confluent); traditional advertising/media agencies (WPP, Omnicom, Publicis, IPG, Dentsu, Ogilvy, BBDO, McCann, Havas, Horizon Media). TRAITS TO AVOID: experience primarily with physical CPG products; cannot distill complex topics for varied audiences; requires large teams or established process to be effective; lacks intuition for what resonates with developer/creator communities. VISA: open to visa transfers (OPT, H1B transfers). TECH STACK: Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube Shorts, Meta Ads, AI content tools, short-form video editing.

  • Experience working with sensitive audiences such as families of children with autism
  • Experience building and managing a creator/influencer network
  • Experience managing an offshore or freelance content team
  • Client's stated seniority band was 2-5 years in organic social. DEPRIORITISED on Gareth's instruction, 25 Aug 2026 — it was excluding the strongest people in the market, who are all 7-13 years in. Years of experience is recorded per candidate but is no longer scored as a hard requirement.
